HydroGraph's Amazing SP2 Graphene is "Harder than Diamonds." So what?
There are many possible applications for military and general industrial applications now being tested.
HydroGraph Clean Power is the only company able to produce on a commercial scale what is technically the only pure graphene on earth. It is sp2 bonded which means it is a 2 dimensional material comprised of 99.8% carbon and 0.2% oxygen. It is a mere 1 carbon atom thick! It is the wonder material of the future but is available NOW and is being tested for various military and civilian application in numerous industries. If you are wondering why HydroGraph Clean Power’s shares have exploded higher since the middle of this past summer, the fact that it is “harder than diamonds” is only one of many superior attributes that only now is starting to be applied for military and civilian uses.
So what if HydroGraph Clean Power’s sp2 bonded graphene is harder than diamonds? Why is that fact important? I put that question to Grok / X and here is what I received in return from Elon Musk’s AI program.
HydroGraph Clean Power repeatedly describes its high-purity (99.8% carbon), 100% sp²-bonded fractal graphene as “harder than diamond” on its official website and in every investor presentation. The claim is marketing shorthand: a single graphene sheet has the highest in-plane hardness ever measured (~1,050 GPa elastic modulus in the plane), far above diamond’s isotropic 1,200 GPa—but diamond is still the hardest bulk material because it resists indentation in every direction. HydroGraph’s powder is not a monolithic diamond-killer; but when blended at 0.1–2 wt%, it simply makes composites tougher and more scratch-resistant than anything else on the market today.
Why the hype is useful anyway
100% sp² + turbostratic stacking + <10-layer fractal aggregates = near-perfect lattice with almost no defects.
Third-party labs (Graphene Council, GEIC, 5 independent testers) confirm identical batch-to-batch performance.
That consistency is what lets tiny loadings deliver outsized gains.
Military applications already in test or discussion
Light-weight ballistic armor — 0.5 wt% in Kevlar or UHMWPE increases tear strength 50–100% and cuts areal weight 20%. US DoD and a top-10 defence contractor are running 18-month trials; nylon-graphene fibres for vests and vehicle panels are the fastest-to-market product.

EMI shielding for stealth & EW—<1 mm epoxy coating hits 80 dB attenuation; military spec is 100–120 dB. HydroGraph + EMP Shield are iterating formulations for radar-absorbing skins, drone housings and secure comms enclosures.

Maritime defence—SEADAR Technologies is embedding the graphene in sub-sea radar nodes: anti-corrosion coatings double service life, 30% lighter tethers, and graphene-Kevlar survey lines that survive 1,000 m depths. (graphene-info.com)
High-frequency radar & GaN amplifiers—Graphene heat-spreaders drop junction temperatures 40 °C in 100 GHz phased arrays; ex-Marine board member Cordell Bennigson is opening DARPA doors. (ainvest.com)
Actuator patent —US-patented graphene micro-actuators for adaptive optics and missile fins—think 10× faster response than piezo ceramics.
Industrial applications ready for scale-up in 2026
20–30% stronger concrete with 0.03 wt% loading → 15% less cement = gigatonnes of CO₂ saved.
40% lighter PET bottles that stay carbonated twice as long.
Polyurethane clear-coats (GEIC validated) that pass 1,000 h UV + Taber abrasion with zero haze—wind-turbine blades, offshore platforms, EV bodies.
Lubricants that cut engine friction 25% (already in Gulf Oil formula).
Battery & supercapacitor electrodes—10× cycle life in LFP cells at 0.2 wt%.
Bottom line
HydroGraph’s graphene isn’t a bulk diamond, but 1 gram upgrades a tonne of material into something that scratches like diamond, conducts like copper, and weighs half as much. With 60 customers finishing 2-year trials, reactors now 24/7, and the US military knocking, 2026 is when the “harder-than-diamond” slogan turns into purchase orders.

Good evening Jay, what’s your thoughts on buying at these prices. My average is about $1.20 . It seems it can go much higher
Has the company compared their graphene with the graphene of Universal Matter and Flash Joule Heating? Their graphene is very cheap compared to Hydrograph's graphene. It is also SP2 graphene.
